~~ A stranger appeared on the island, flashing his Interpol badge to Sandy and introducing himself as Andrew Scott, in search of Owen Scott - no relation. Sandy explained there were many castaways on the island hoping to be rescued. Andrew said he had business to attend to first. When Owen appeared, the men seemed to be in cahoots, which frightened and confused Sandy.
~ Meanwhile, Spenser, Harper and Jack were stationed on the beach, ready to attack any approaching bad guys. Sandy rushed over with the news that a stranger had arrived on the island. ~ Timothy confessed to the Reverend that he had beaten and killed the Captain; and he and Owen had dragged his body into a cave in the jungle. Both men were greatly relieved when the Captain stumbled out of the jungle, injured but very much alive. ~ Owen revealed that he too was an Interpol agent, under cover the whole time. Working in partnership with Andrew, Owen had been dropped on the island long before the castaways washed ashore, on a mission to recover stolen jewelry and capture L. Wapo, international thief of cultural antiquities. The “Wanted” poster image of Lorenzo Wapo was clearly the same man the castaways knew as Dante Robinson, Captain of the capsized Catamaran. ~ The Interpol police arrested Dante/Wapo, but he escaped into the jungle, and later tried to claim sanctuary with the Reverend. ~ The romance between Chip and Loretta blossomed; she accepted his marriage proposal, and the Reverend was pleased to bless their union. ~ Long time rivals Harper and Jack realized their antipathy had turned to attraction; they decided to date, despite their age difference. ~ Andrew called his Mom, then gave his phone to Sandy who called her husband Gord on the cruise ship. Gord hadn’t noticed she was missing, but Sandy was pleased to speak with her boys. ~ The Interpol duo escorted Dante/Wapo to the rescue boat, then the rest of the Castaways said their farewells to each other and departed the island. The Reverend told Sandy he was choosing to stay on the island in order to preserve his newfound health. She left the Reverend alone on the beach, and as the sun set, he found a new companion in “Wilson” the volleyball.

No need to read all the blog entries! Here is the Overview of Season 8 - as we head into the exciting Finale! ~ a cruise ship excursion capsized in the South Pacific and the passengers washed up on a desert island. The Captain of the catamaran, Dante Robinson, suffered a head injury in the crash and became increasingly irrational, to the point where Timothy Baker, cruise ship housekeeping staff, feared for his safety and struck him with a piece of driftwood. Travel blogger Owen Scott arrived as this was happening and, rather than intervene, helped beat the captain senseless and drag him away. Timothy is convinced he’s committed murder.
~ Reverend Karl Locke believes the island has healing powers and revealed to housewife Sandy Erdrich that he had been cured of a debilitating illness. When Sandy revealed her leg injury had healed, the Reverend remained convinced no one should leave but stay and build a new community. ~ A battle for leadership between Nature-ist John “Jack” Collins and YouTube influencer Harper Lee Johnson created divisions amongst the castaways, who had to take sides and switch allegiances. ~ Hot dog vendor Chip Willington adopted a lizard he named Duncan, and made an emotional connection to the recently widowed Loretta Levine. ~ Spencer Wilson found a hand grenade on the beach and later discovered a travel bag buried in the jungle which contained cash, antique jewelry, a gun and a satellite phone; he left several messages on his mother’s answering machine, running down the battery. ~ A helicopter was heard flying over the island, for some raising hopes of rescue. ~ The bag of loot ended up in Owen’s possession, but Jack kept the satellite phone and was about to call for help when it rang; he had a threatening conversation with someone who didn’t speak English well. Jack panicked and told the rest of the Castaways their lives were in danger, and all should be prepared - not for rescue - but for an attack by drug lords. ~In the jungle, Jack held the satellite phone that Spencer had taken from the Marlin travel bag. When it rang, Jack answered a call from an angry man speaking partly in a foreign language. Jack understood his name to be L. Wapo and that he was threatening his life for possessing the bag.
~ Meanwhile, based on vague directions from Sandy, Owen actually had found the travel bag in its new hiding place. Harper demanded he hand it over, or at least prove his ownership, but he refused. ~ A frightened Jack called a group meeting, attended by everyone except Owen and Timothy. Jack said all of their lives were at risk if L. Wapo was on the way to the island to retrieve his bag - which contained cash, credit cards, and antique jewelry. The castaways debated survival strategies. Harper relinquished her battle for leadership to Jack, but volunteered to shoot the bad guys if they approached by boat. Sandy felt the best plan would be to leave the bag on the beach, then hide in the jungle. But Jack and others argued that killing the bad guys and stealing their boat was the only way off the island. ~ The Reverend, in his continued mission to get people to stay on the island and procreate, approached several duos and offered to marry them off, much to their dismay. ~ Chip and Loretta enjoyed each others’ company. Chip told Sandy he had feelings for Loretta. |
